Maggi noodles is one dish that can pass for snack, lunch or dinner among kids!  Making it might be the easiest thing, but making it extra-delicious and nutritious is equally easy!  A few tips can help in making this quick treat, even quicker!!

Ingredients:

  • Maggi 2-minute noodles - 4 packs
  • Soybeans - 0.5 cup
  • Soy chunks - 2 fistfuls
  • Red chili-garlic paste - 1 tsp

Method:

  • Boil 2 cups of water and add the soy chunks ('Soup' mode in IP)
  • After they cook and soften, drain the water and wash the chunks with cold water
  • Squeeze out all the water from the cooked chunks and set aside
  • Bring 4 cups of water to boil and add the soybeans ('Soup' mode in IP)
  • Break the maggi noodles (in the packet), open and put them into the boiling water
  • Add the masala powder packets into a cup of water and stir without lumps
  • Add the red chili-garlic paste to this and stir
  • Add this spice mixture to the noodles and mix well
  • Add the cooked and squeezed soy chunks and cook for a minute
  • Serve hot and enjoy the protein-enriched meal/snack

Tips and Tricks:

  • Cleaning the soy chunks after cooking takes away the odour from them and squeezing the water keeps them ready to absorb the flavors from the liquid they are put into
  • Adding the soybeans first ensures that they cook perfectly along with the noodles
  • Stirring the spice-powders in water prevents lumping and ensures even flavoring
  • Breaking the noodle-cake before opening the packet keeps all the crumbs that might scatter all over, otherwise
  • Break them well if long strands of noodles are not desired
  • Adding the soy chunks after the spices helps induce the flavors into the bland, but nutritious soy chunks
