No. of servings:  4                  Soak Time:  15 mins (for potatoes)
Preparation Time:  5 mins            Cook Time:  15 mins

This easy, healthy snack can be made at any time, in under 20 mins! With different veggies, as per preference, this is a family favorite.

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes (or) Sweet Potatoes (or) Purple Potatoes (or) Broccoli (or) Cauliflower (or) Brussels sprouts (or) Asparagus
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper (or) Basil (or) Oregano (or) Kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves)

Method:

  • Choose any of the veggies
  • Some combinations like broccoli and cauliflower work well as well
  • Clean, (peel) and cut them appropriately like fries
  • If using any kind of potatoes, wash and soak the cut pieces in water for 15 minutes.  Pat dry and then continue as below
  • Pick the desired seasoning of black pepper or basil or oregano or methi
  • Toss them in a tsp of oil, salt and seasoning
  • Air fry them in an air fryer (or) bake them on a cookie sheet in the oven for 10-15 min (as per veggie chosen or desired crispness)
  • Toss food in between for even cooking
  • Enjoy with ketchup or as is!

Tips and Tricks:

  • Air frying or baking time depends on the texture desired and vegetable chosen
  • Could start with 380° F (195° C) for 15 mins and increase up to 400° F (200° C) for 20 mins. Open and check for doneness
  • Don't forget to turn the food mid-way to avoid a burnt top layer
  • Wash and let the veggies air dry to avoid a soggy bottom layer
  • Soaking the potatoes removes extra starch in them and makes the fries firm and crisp rather than limp!
