Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie

This refreshing yogurt smoothie is wonderful on a summer afternoon and for the gut as well.



Ingredients:

  • Strawberries - 4-8 (based on size)
  • 1 Strawberry - thinly sliced and slit in the middle
  • Yogurt - 1 cup
  • Ice cubes - 0.5 cups
  • Agave nectar (or) honey - 1 tbsp 
  • Granola - 2 tbsp
  • Silted almonds - 1 tbsp
  • Chocolate nibs - 1 tbsp
  • Whipped cream - optional

Method:

  • Blend the strawberries yogurt, agave nectar and ice cubes into a blender
  • Run it  on a 'smoothie' cycle or blend it until ice cubes are crushed evenly
  • Pour it into a tall glass till three-fourths full
  • Top with granola, silted almonds, Choco nibs and whipped cream (if using) as desired
  • Decorate with the strawberry slices on the rim of the glass and serve away! 


Tips and Tricks:

  • Use yogurt for drinks with tart fruit like strawberries, kiwis, pineapples, etc. rather than milk.  The acids in the fruit curdle the milk
  • Agave nectar is a great natural sweetener
