Making a snack can't get easier than this 'no cooking' delicacy! Quick to make, colorful to present and delicious to eat. Healthy too, as it incorporates raw veggies and minimal extra ingredients.
Ingredients:
- Tomatoes - 4
- Carrot - 1
- Red chili powder + chaat masala - 2 tsp
- Salt
- Sweet chutney (or) Sugar - 4-6 tsp
- Puffed rice - 2 cups
- Any type of fried garnishes - 4-6 tbsp (optional)
- Mint sprigs - 4
Method:
- Thinly slice the tomatoes and arrange them on a plate
- Sprinkle red chili powder, chaat masala and salt on them
- Drizzle sweet chutney
- Grate the carrot and spread over the tomato slices
- Spread puffed rice over this (amount as per taste)
- Lightly scatter some fried garnishes like sev, peanuts, boonDi, etc.
- Top it with a sprig of mint and serve immediately
Tips and Tricks:
- Slicing the tomatoes thinly is important so that the garnishes can be relished along with the tomatoes
- If sweet chutney is not available, some sugar can be sprinkled in its place. Tomatoes have some tang already
- It is better if eaten right after making else the puffed rice and other garnishes will get soggy and lose their crunch
